Mission Statement: To provide accurate evaluation and assessment of the adult patient with spinal complaints and problems, to initiate both non-surgical and surgical methods to alleviate symptoms, and to utilize all means necessary to regain desired function.
Experts in cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal disorders. Specializing in the non-operative and operative treatment of low back pain, leg pain, neck pain, arm pain, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, spinal fusions, complex spinal reconstructions, revision spinal surgery, spinal cord stimulation, and pain modality techniques.
Our goal is to improve and maintain your overall health and to empower you with an understanding of your condition and wellness plan.
We offer a full work up, diagnosis list and treatment plan, with non-surgical treatments being the most common modality. Conservative management is successful in 85% of cases. Successful outcome starts with an accurate diagnosis and it is the cornerstone of appropriate cost-effective care. Surgery of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine reserved for severe findings and severe symptoms. PSOS physicians are experts in spine surgery with thousands of satisfied surgical patients.
Whether it is 3 days, 3 months or years, we can get the process started.
Longstanding conditions may require a "start over" approach of workup and diagnosis. In cases of previous surgery, "failed" surgery, or adjacent level disease, revision surgical services may be required. Advanced pain techniques of spinal cord stimulation may also be utilized. Avoidance or minimal use of chronic narcotics should always be the goal of a successful outcome.
The physicians at PSOS pride themselves in patients' understanding of their problems, disease process, condition, available treatment options, and empower them to be a part of their healthcare decisions. We are happy to evaluate you to achieve this goal, regardless if you remain a patient through all phases of care. YOUR Doctor is YOUR choice and take the time to find a Doctor you trust.
We specialize in the evaluation, examination, work-up, imaging order/review, diagnosis, treatment plan, follow-up, surgical care when necessary, and appropriate after care.
We are happy to answer your questions and have an experienced billing staff. The physicians at PSOS take most insurance plans, but we are a phone call away to confirm. We manage all aspects including assessments of plans, out-of-pocket costs, and a streamlined billing process.
The physicians at PSOS have evaluated and treated thousands of injured workers from a dozen different states. All phases of care are performed from initial evaluation, diagnosis, assessment of causation, treatment (both non-operative and operative), follow up after care and return to work and function. Causation, second opinion, transfer of care, medical record review, IMEs, depositions, and ratings are managed with 15 years of experience.
Patient satisfaction toward their physician can be difficult to assess. It simply is far more complex than a restaurant review on YELP. Spine problems tend to be the most difficult and it is not unusual for patients to have years of pain, multiple previous surgeries, permanent damage, mental status impairments, and MVA/WC litigation adding significant complexity. There is never a miracle cure with spine problems. Sometimes there is not a solution despite trying our very best. Also, in healthcare, sometimes the BEST answer is NO, and can leave us with a dissatisfied patient. Pain control and our current opiod epidemic in the US can also add complexity to patient satisfaction. At the very least, we PROMISE honesty in our discussions. Some may not like the answer, but honesty is always the right way to discuss healthcare issues. At the time of creation of the new website, I am supplying the last 4 reviews in chronological order, unedited. Dr. Bailey

Very caring, knowledgeable, concerned and skilled surgeon! I could not have asked for anyone better. He and his staff, the staff at St Luke's South were above and beyond what I could have hoped for. My surgery took 6 hours, 13 screws and rods in my back. He came to the hospital over the weekend to check on me and honestly, any little problem was immediately resolved. This was a work comp issue, and I know Dr Bailey honestly was only concerned about me and my back, my comfort and a solution.

I had back surgery on Mar 1, 2017 by Dr. Alexander Bailey. He performed surgery on a herniated disc which was extremely painful before surgery. My pain was gone after the surgery with exception to the actual site of surgery which healed beautifully. I was very impressed with Dr. Bailey's expertise, confidence and his clear instructions on how to prevent injury after the successful surgery. He gets an A+++ in my book!

He said he could fix my back and after 9 months of pain, after surgery I am pain free. He did exactly what he told me he was going to do. I asked for the best and I got it in Dr. Bailey. I have told everyone who has back pain to go to see Dr. Bailey. If anyone can fix you, he can.
